How the Edit Works
For the first 3.5 seconds the camera holds on the tunnel door without moving; a flashlight beam slides across the stone wall and stops near the door ring. At 3.5 s the next frame is already the lantern-lit back alley, with no dissolve, no black frame and no camera move leading into it. Each half was written with its own time range, and the cut was requested by the prompt within the same generation.
To make a smash cut land, hold the first shot long enough to set up its quiet, dim mood, then make the second shot differ on several fronts at once: brightness, color temperature, crowd size and sound. Spell out "no transition, hard cut" in the prompt and describe how each half ends. Check where the cut actually falls after generating; here it arrived about half a second later than written.

The picture then cuts to the night-market back alley: Shami stands under a red lantern beside the door in the stone wall, Kai Miren is a few steps to her left, and Biwa, holding the sealed box, stands mid-alley with White, Suseka, MeiHua and Ruk.
What to Watch For
For the first 3.5 seconds the camera does not move; only the pool of light slides across the wall and settles near the door ring, and the frame is almost all cold blue and black. At 3.5 s there is no dissolve and no black frame: the very next frame is warm orange lanterns, wet flagstones and a street full of people. Brightness, color temperature and crowd density all flip on the same frame, which is where the cut gets its force. After the cut the camera stays locked off, giving viewers time to read the new space.
