Camera Control
The camera sits at about chest height, facing the gate, and holds Shami, Kai and the access panel on the left wall in one frame. Here the framing runs from the tops of their heads down to the thighs, a little looser than a classic waist-up medium shot, yet Shami's outstretched hand, the box against Kai's chest and the red light on the panel all read clearly. The camera stays locked off.
A medium shot works when action and response stay in the same frame: the person reaching, the panel being pressed and the person standing beside it all need to stay inside the edges. In a prompt, say where the bottom of the frame cuts the body, then say who stands left, who stands right and who holds the prop. With the camera still, the viewer can concentrate on what the action leads to.

What to Watch For
The camera never moves. Look at how the frame holds three things at once: the panel on the left wall, Shami's outstretched hand and the box Kai holds at his chest on the right. At about one second the panel turns red while both bodies are still in view, so the failed attempt reads without a cut. The bottom of the frame falls at about the thighs.
