Camera Control

For a close-up to hold, focus has to sit firmly on the eyes, and background figures only need to read as shapes. At this size every movement is magnified, so give one close-up one or two shifts of gaze at most, and keep a hint of what she is looking at near the edge of the frame (here, a corner of the holder) so viewers can follow her eyes.
Save the close-up for the beat where a character works something out, mark where her eyes go in the storyboard, and generate it with the AI film maker so the change plays in her gaze.

What to Watch For
At the start Biwa is out of focus in the background but still recognizable, reading her documents mid-corridor, and MeiHua's eyes point her way. Within the first second MeiHua closes her eyes, then turns toward the camera and lets her gaze fall to the holder at the lower left of the frame. The framing never changes; the two shifts of eyeline are what you can clearly read.
