Effect comparison
In the baseline image, both Zlatia and the successive arches behind are clearly recognizable. The shallow-focus version keeps the figure, face and football by the feet sharp while softening the distant passage and doorways. With less background detail competing for attention, the viewer can more readily read the expression and the pose used to stop the ball.
